Blueberry Peach Crumble
Peaches and blueberries are in season during prime camping time and so they make the prefect base for this cobbler. Add a sweet, oaty top and it makes a great dessert, camping or otherwise.

Pre Camp Prep
  1. To ensure a lighter packing, premix the sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon for the filling and the flour, oats, sugar and salt for the topping and store in separate containers until ready to use.
Cobbler Makin’
  1. Get your coals ready. Start warming your dutch oven over top.
  2. Chop up peaches and add to dutch oven along with the blueberries, filling mixture, lemon juice and vanilla. Stir to ensure fruit is evenly coated.
  3. Cover with topping mixture and evenly distribute the chunks of butter over top.
  4. Place the lid on top and cover lid with some more coals. More on top than bottom.
  5. Allow to cook for 30-40 min, rotating the oven a quarter turn and the lid a quarter turn the opposite way every 10-15 minutes.
  6. Cobbler is done when the filling is gooey and the topping is browned. Serve with whipped cream!
Recipe Notes

I paired this with my Greek Chicken and Rice recipe to make sure I had a good reason to pack lemons. Just gotta wash the oven between cooks.

A tiny bottle of vanilla is more than enough and should easily fit with your spices in a kitchen box.
